Archaeological Museums of Lambayeque.
Mandatory visit
Lambayeque
was always renamed for the existence of an immense archaeological wealth,
especially in ceramics and goldsmithing, which was treated as a booty that
anyone could take. Enrique Brüning, as always a foreigner arrived from Germany,
was the first to recognize the value of this wealth and the obligation to
preserve it. In 1921 the Bruning Museum was officially presented in Lambayeque.
Just after 70 years, a similar proposal appears, the Museum of Royal Tombs of
Sipan. A Peruvian, Walter Alva, was the driving force behind the work.
In the 20
years that followed, four additional museums were created. Now there is the
possibility of appreciating the ways of life and the talent of the inhabitants
of the different cultures that inhabited the current Lambayeque region.
