The
Convento de Santa Catalina in Arequipa. A city within a city.
The Convento de Santa
Catalina is wonderful for its architecture, the use of building material in the
local architecture (ashlar), by history, by receiving therein colonial valuable
works of art.
A walk through the
interior is not only overwhelming why you feel the spirit of past and present,
also because a single particularity is discovered. In itself, the convent is a
city, small but tidy, it has all the elements in a city like street names,
parks, gardens, churches. There is also a
cemetery.
If you are Peruvian, be
sure to view this our wonder; if you are a foreigner, you should visit Arequipa
and walk around this beautiful place. After hearing that takes several hours,
you can go out and enjoy the Arequipa cuisine, suitable for gourmets.
You will not regret.
