Peru, an immense gold mine, Where is that wealth?
Peru is an immense gold mine, because in every corner there
is potential for exploitation. At present it has 2,800 Metric tons, 5% of the
world's gold reserves estimated at 56,000 metric tons, is the sixth country in
the world, according to the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy (SNMPE).
Australia is the leader with 9,100 metric tons, followed by Russia with 8,000
tons, Africa with 6,000 tons, the United States with 3,000 tons and Indonesia
with 3,000 tons.
Of the 3,000 metric tons of gold reported as world
production in 2015, Peru contributed 4.8% (145 tons), which allowed it to
become the sixth largest producer of this precious metal.
In addition to the reserves, the gold is in the Museums that
show wonderful works of the art of the ancient Peruvians. The incredible thing
is that what is shown is only a fraction of those that exist and that was
recovered from abroad, to form the national heritage that now prides Peruvians
and amazes the visitors. How much will there be outside? How much gold is not
reported?
The paradox without answer is Why is there no prosperity if
there is an immense wealth in gold, other metals and minerals, forests,
