Macchu Picchu. The strength of the stones
and the magic of the flowers in the Inca paradise
Machu Picchu attracts for several reasons: the solid
stone constructions, in hard granite of the Andes, that seem to defy time.
Eternal as the universe will remain there even when all generations of humans
have disappeared. They attract by the landscape that surrounds the place, the
multicolored and fragrant jungle that surrounds the senses. Machu Picchu
attracts lovers of mystery, mysticism, hidden things because they say that the
energies of the universe are concentrated there. For anything, someone will
always have a reason, a pretext, to visit Machu Pichu.
However, there are things that are hidden for the
majority, and that are priorities for people who seek to enjoy another
attraction more. The flora and fauna, especially the flora represented by
orchids and other flowers. In Peru there are 3,000 species of orchids, of which
about five hundred (500) flower in Machu Picchu (it is possible that there are
up to 1,000 species, which are gradually discovered).
For those who love nature, flowers, orchids, the trip
to Machu Picchu is worth it just for that. The sight of the attractions in
stone, the temples, are the added value of the trip. The orchids are found on
the road that leads to Machu Picchu, scattered in the enclosure and in the
Botanical Garden that was designed to preserve the existing flora.
Therefore, when I go to Machu Pichi, do not just look
at the beautifully carved stones; there are also tiny and beautiful surprises
of color on the ground, in the hidden corners, in the Botanical Garden, on the
way to the place where you made the long trip.
